Blencowe Resources has taken a step into high-value markets, with Orom-Cross graphite successfully tested in rocket propulsion systems in the United States. As real-world firing validates performance in extreme conditions, the project is now moving beyond traditional applications—opening the door to defence, aerospace, and specialty markets where premium pricing and strategic partnerships could significantly enhance long-term value

Blencowe Graphite "Takes Off" With Successful Rocket Test Programme

Blencowe Resources (LSE: BRES) has delivered another milestone for its Orom-Cross Graphite Project, with its graphite concentrate successfully tested in a live rocket component firing programme in the United States.

This marks a significant transition from laboratory validation to real-world, high-performance application, positioning Orom-Cross graphite within some of the most demanding industrial environments globally.

Proven in Extreme Conditions

The programme saw Orom-Cross graphite processed into specialised mouldings by American Energy Technologies Company (AETC), designed for use in rocket propulsion nozzles.

These components were tested under live firing conditions as part of a hypersonic sub-orbital rocket programme, with:

  • Successful completion of all planned test runs
  • Encouraging early observations in high-temperature performance
  • Validation of graphite’s potential to replace synthetic materials

Importantly, the tests were conducted in the presence of major aerospace stakeholders, including Pluto Aerospace, Purdue University, and US Government agencies.

Opening the Door to High-Value Markets

This isn’t just a technical milestone—it’s a high value market opportunity.

The successful testing highlights a pathway into:

  • Defence and aerospace applications
  • Rocket propulsion systems
  • Advanced coatings for extreme environments

Alongside nozzle testing, graphite-based coatings have also been trialled on rocket fin components, targeting durability under hypersonic conditions and Ice-resistant (icephobic) performance.

While Orom-Cross is already a large-scale graphite project set to supply traditional markets, applications could extend into spacemilitary and commercial aviation, significantly expanding the addressable market and supplying into higher-margin specialty graphite products

Momentum Building With Further Testing Planned

The initial programme represents just the beginning with additional testing phases planned including Orbital-level testing targeted for H2 2026.  Data from the current trials is now under analysis.

As results continue to validate performance, the programme could evolve into longer-term commercial and strategic relationships.

Beyond the technical results, this programme reinforces Blencowe’s growing relevance in:

  • Western supply chains for critical minerals
  • Strategic US partnerships
  • High-specification industrial applications

With increasing demand for secure, high-quality graphite outside China, Orom-Cross is now demonstrating it can compete not just on scale—but on performance and versatility.
